Dorchester-based Loop Technology has supplied the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) (
www.the-mtc.org)in Coventry with a self-contained robot cell designed to provide a flexible development and demonstration platform, while offering scope for future expansion.
The cell was created using a modular format that allows rapid integration with a range of robots — including the Kuka KR Agilus and the Kuka LBR IIWA.
Loop’s project manager, Peter Eyre, said: “I’m sure the cell will be very popular with organisations venturing into automation, as well as more-established robotic operators looking to improve the efficiency of their development processes (

The cell was handed over to MTC advanced research engineer Jacob Brown by Alex Garlic, Loop’s newest apprentice. He joined the company’s electrical-apprenticeship scheme and was instrumental in the cell’s build.
