West Bromwich-based Berck (www.bercklimited.co.uk) is targeting new business in the defence sector after completing the strategic acquisition of deep-drawing specialist Fourjay, located in Aldridge.

Berck manufactures metal pressings and metal sub-assemblies for the automotive, electronics and medical industries. It will now expand into the aerospace sector by supplying fuses for the Eurofighter and F-16.

Managing director Darren Yates said: “Fourjay specialises in deep drawing, which is something that we have been unable to do until now. It supplies the Ministry of Defence, and it is a world-wide supplier of fuses.”

The family-owned business uses cutting-edge technology, and its production facilities include versatile roll-feed and multi-slide presses to ensure the efficient and consistent production of its precision components.
