A West Yorkshire manufacturer of emergency services equipment has secured a contract worth £6 million to supply helmets for fire-fighters across the UK.
The HEROS-titan helmet, designed by Holmfirth-based Rosenbauer UK (
www.rosenbauer.co.uk), was selected to be part of a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) public-sector contract awarded to Bristol Uniforms.
Following trials, the HEROS-titan was chosen because it provides the highest safety and protection levels as well as maximum comfort, a lower weight, an upgraded LED torch and better aesthetics.
Gareth Johns, Rosenbauer UK’s fire-fighting equipment specialist, said: “We’re delighted to see the HEROS-titan fire helmet chosen for this contract, which looks set to serve a large portion of the UK PPE market.
“We worked tirelessly throughout the trial processes to ensure that Bristol’s high standards were met.
“We’re now looking forward to working with them to ensure maximum performance and comfort for the country’s fire-fighters, along with the highest protection level.”
