Michelin Tyre has unveiled a new 53,500m² European Distribution Centre (EDC) at its UK headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent, following a £10 million investment that has helped to create 100 logistics and customer service jobs over the last 12 months (www.michelin.co.uk).

In addition, work has begun on an a new 12,000m² warehouse for Michelin’s truck tyre retreading facility. Over the last eight years, Michelin has invested more than £25 million to make this one of the most modern retreading plants in the world.

John Young, managing director of Michelin Tyre, said: “The investment in the factory means that we can compete in an extremely tough market, while the EDC will help us to take our customer service to the next level.

“When the new warehouse opens, it will lay the foundations for further growth, so we see our future in Stoke-on-Trent as very bright.”
