Lancashire-based Metflex (www.metflex.co.uk) has been acquired by global technology group Freudenberg (www.freudenberg.com) and will become part of its international Sealing Technologies division.

Founded in 1919 and based at Great Harwood (near Blackburn), Metflex manufactures precision moulded components, rubber seals and diaphragms for a global multi-industry customer base.

Its service ranges from material development and concept planning through to tool prototyping and manufacture, so it can offer fully bespoke products for diverse applications.

Freudenberg — headquartered in Weinheim, South West Germany — was founded in 1849 and operates on a global scale in numerous markets.

Its Sealing Technologies division develops products for customers in a wide variety of industry sectors, including automotive, civil aviation, machine building, ship construction, food and pharmaceuticals.
