Dudley-based Alloy Heat Treatment (AHT), the UK’s only specialist in the heat treatment of aluminium alloys, has been awarded the AS9100 Revision D certificate.
This is an aerospace standard that takes ISO 9001 requirements and supplements them with additional quality systems established by the aerospace industry in order to satisfy CAA, DOD, NASA and FAA quality needs.
Quality director Steve Roberts said: “We are very proud of this award. We are only the fourth company in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region to have a certificate for AS9100 Revision D issued — and the very first sub-contract company.”
AHT invited some of their employees and apprentices to the awards ceremony, so that they could see the company being rewarded for its efforts (and gain an insight into BSI).
AHT also holds the NADCAP accreditation, as well as ‘preferred supplier’ status to many aerospace prime contractors. The company can process components up to 5m long and weighing up to 3 tonnes.
It also offers rapid quenching in either polymer or water (hot or cold).
