Thomas Dudley’s award-winning Black Country foundry has invested in a Dugard XP1600 CNC machine to boost its ability
to rapidly manufacture high-quality patterns in-house.
Foundry director Mick Cramphorn said: “We are currently producing patterns up to 700mm wide, but with this new investment, we’ll be able to cut larger patterns — about 1,150mm wide — in-house.
“The machine has a fast spindle, offering enhanced finishes when cutting fine details such as text or texture on patterns.
“Our maximum feed rate at the moment is 15,000mm per min; that will increase to 20,000mm per min, which is exactly what we need for projects that require a fast turn-round.”
