Tata opens new European HQEngineering services giant Tata Technologies has opened a new European Innovation and Development Centre (EIDC)
in Warwick.

The £20 million facility will house engineering support services, two advanced engineering laboratories and a ‘state of the art’ R&D centre to develop Tata’s capabilities across the automotive, aerospace and industrial-machinery sectors.

It will also act as Tata’s European headquarters, following the creation of ‘delivery centres’ in Paris and Gothenburg earlier this year.

The EIDC will create an additional boost for the ‘Midlands Engine’ in the form of 200 new STEM jobs for design engineers and programme managers at various levels.

The company will use its relationships with local universities when taking on new skilled staff; it has close ties with Coventry University, which runs the Ada Lovelace scheme in support of women studying STEM topics.

Tata also works with Warwick University and is looking to collaborate with Birmingham, Aston and Loughborough universities as partners for recruitment and training.
