Auma has launched an app that is said to allow fast and easy configuration and diagnostics of its actuators via an Android smartphone or tablet.
The Auma Assistant App uses Bluetooth wireless communication to transfer parameter settings to the actuator and read back diagnostic data, saving time and cost during commissioning and maintenance.
All of the actuator’s operating parameters can be set via the app. Parameter settings can also be prepared off-line and transmitted to the actuator on site at a later point in time. In addition, parameter settings can be copied from one actuator to another.
The app features a snapshot function to read out diagnostic data stored in the actuator, including actuator status, warnings and error messages.
Operators can also send parameter settings and diagnostic data directly from the app to Auma’s service department, thus facilitating maintenance and troubleshooting.
The app also works with actuators installed in hazardous environments, and the company offers explosion-proof tablets and smartphones with the app pre-installed.
