Brighouse-based Kent Introl has secured an exclusive contract to supply choke and control valves to the Statoil Johan Castberg project in Norway (

The contract forms part of a wider framework agreement between Kent Introl and Statoil, which will see the former supplying the latter with valves until 2020, with options to extend the agreement through to 2026.
The project centres on a large FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) vessel that will be located about 240km north-west of Hammerfest at the northern tip of Norway, where the water depth is around 360-390m.
A final investment decision is expected in late 2017, which should mean that the valves will be manufactured and supplied throughout 2018 and 2019.
Stuart Billingham, sales director at Kent Introl, said: “We’re are delighted to secure this contract, following the successful execution of the Statoil Johan Sverdrup contract. In total, we delivered over 485 valves to Sverdrup during 2016/17, working to ‘site-need dates’ throughout.
“The client has repeatedly rated Kent Introl at 90-95% in its supplier performance evaluations during the past three years, considering on-time delivery, quality, HSE statistics and collaboration with the project teams.”
In the UK, Kent Introl continues to invest in long-term assets to support further growth. For example, the company’s Yorkshire-based manufacturing facility has recently been upgraded and includes several new machining centres.
Kent Introl also has a dedicated after-market facility for valve servicing, overhauls and repair; this has been developed in response to the growing need for oil and gas companies to maintain and extend the service life of assets.
