ModuleWorks — a supplier of CAD/CAM components for machining and simulation — has announced a product partnership with Siemens AG that allows ModuleWorks real-time collision avoidance software to be used with the Siemens Sinumerik 840D sl CNC system (www.moduleworks.com).

The ModuleWorks software takes the real axis positions, machine geometries and workpiece positions, then uses the same motion data as the machine servos to provide a fully integrated and visually realistic simulation of the machine, tools and fixtures — plus the material removal process.
