Last month, Arburg (
www.arburg.com) — a German family-owned manufacturer of plastics-processing machines — started construction of a 13,700m2 multi-storey training centre that will bring the total usable space at its Lossburg site to 180,000m2.
Managing partner Michael Hehl said: “This training centre is a clear sign of our commitment to Lossburg as a production centre. Over the past 10 years, we have spent many millions on new buildings at our Lossburg location, including a customer centre, assembly hall, multi-storey car park, trade-fair logistics hall — and now the new training centre.
“These investments highlight the great significance of Germany as a whole, and the importance of Lossburg for Arburg.”
The ground floor of the new building will house some 15 Allrounder injection moulding machines for practical training, and there will be 12 rooms on the first floor for training customers on the theoretical aspects of the machines and moulding. The top two floors will be open-plan offices for administrative staff.
Arburg has about 2,200 employees in Germany, plus another 500 at 33 locations around the world. The company had a consolidated turnover of 636 million euros in 2016 and exports around 70% of its output.
