Cradley Heath-based A Perry & Co (Hinges)) has invested £4 million in the expansion of its facilities to meet demand, which has increased by over 20% in the past year (www.perrytrade.co.uk.

Established in 1925, the company manufactures hinges, hardware, ironmongery, chain and threaded bar; it has invested in a new modern 100,000ft² warehouse and has created 15 new jobs — with more to follow.

With a current turnover in excess of £12 million, the company is continuing to innovate and diversify into new markets, alongside implementing a bespoke lean management process in its distribution and manufacturing operations.

Group managing director Guy Perry, who joined the family firm in 1981, said: “While other companies in the industry are retracting or standing still, Perry is continuing to offer full-time employment and apprenticeships to local people.

“We are consolidating our leadership position in our traditional markets, while diversifying into new sectors with exciting developments and innovations.”
