Vollmer (
www2.vollmer-group.com) has built a new subsidiary in Zabrze, near Katowice in Upper Silesia, to serve its growing customer base in Poland.
Covering an area of 500m
2, this comprises offices, workshops, storage facilities and a showroom to display the company’s specialist tool-sharpening machines.
The German manufacturer will have several machine on the site, including a QXD 250 eroding machine, a VGrind 360 tool-grinding machine, and a CHD 270 for grinding carbide-tipped circular-saw blades.
Marcin Kurcon, managing director of Vollmer Polska, said: “Vollmer has been represented by its own subsidiary in Poland since 2012.
"Our new building in Zabrze gives us more space in which to demonstrate our sharpening machines and run training courses.
"Customers from the wood-working industry, which includes furniture manufacturers, sawmills and service companies, will also be catered for; this is particularly important, as Poland is one of Europe’s largest producers of furniture.”
