Eon (
www.eonenergy.com) has completed the installation of 116 MHI Vestas V112 3.45MW turbines at its 400MW Rampion wind farm off the coast of Sussex.
Jack-up vessels MPI Discovery and MPI Adventure carried out the work, which started in March; the turbines have 80m
towers and blades that are 55m long.
Further construction and commissioning work will now continue on both the offshore and onshore sub-stations.
Rampion development manager Chris Tomlinson said: “We’re especially proud to have installed all 116 turbines ahead of schedule, in just over six months.
"We now look forward to the first generation of electricity later this year and to full operation in 2018.”
