Three apprentices training at marking, identification and traceability solutions specialist Pryor have been shortlisted for the North East, Yorkshire & Humberside EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
Joshua Keyworth, Niall Dawson and Rob O’Gorman were selected (along with 20 other apprentices from the region) after impressing judges with their hard work and their determination to pursue a career in manufacturing.
Mr Keyworth, currently in the first year of his apprenticeship, works in mechanical maintenance and is specialising as a machine tool technician. Mr Dawson, also a first-year apprentice, is specialising in mechanical design.
Finally, third-year apprentice Mr O’Gorman, who also reached this year’s finals of the AMRC Training Centre Apprentice of the Year Awards, is training as a multi-skilled machinist.
Simon Dunn, Pryor’s operations director, said: “As a company that has been championing apprenticeships for over 40 years, we’re incredibly proud that Josh, Rob and Niall have been shortlisted.
“Our apprentice programmes are tailored to ensure that each apprentice develops a wide range of skills; these three guys have thrived in this environment, going above and beyond to learn their craft and advance their skills.”
The winners will be announced at the North East, Yorkshire & Humberside awards ceremony on 13 November. The regional winner in each category will go forward to compete for the national title.
