Alstom inaugurates first Italo EVOEarlier this month at Expo Ferroviaria in Milan, Alstom and NTV (Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori — an Italian company that is Europe’s first private operator of 300kph high-speed trains) jointly showed the first of 12 Pendolino high-speed trains (called Italo EVO) ordered by NTV in 2015 and 2016.

Italo EVO trains can reach 250kph and comprise seven coaches, with a total length of 187m. They feature a distributed traction system designed with high-efficiency braking and power regeneration.

The trains are produced at Alstom’s sites in Italy. The Savigliano site is responsible for the design and manufacture of the trains.

The other sites involved are: Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) for the design and production of the traction systems, and Bologna for the signalling systems. The maintenance work will be carried out at the site in Nola (Naples).

Be seen in all the right places!
