Siemens Gamesa (
www.siemensgamesa.com) has officially opened a new 37,500m
2 factory for wind-turbine blades in Tangier, Morocco.
This will make blades up to 63m-long for local projects and for export to Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The plant could produce other blade models in the future, up to 75m in length.
Siemens Gamesa chief executive Markus Tacke said: “We invest where we see strong business opportunities, and the opportunities here in Morocco are stronger than ever before.”
