Surface Treatment invests in planning systemSurface Technology (www.surfacetechnology.co.uk), a provider of surface treatments, is backing on-going growth in the Leeds engineering and manufacturing sector after investing in an advanced production planning system and hiring a new sales manager at its Leeds facility.

On the back of recent successes with customers including Brompton Bicycles, whose iconic bikes are electroless-nickel-plated at its Leeds site, the company is looking to forge more partnerships with British engineering and manufacturing businesses.

Operations director Graham Rackstraw said: “The manufacturing sector in Leeds and northern England is strong. We’re looking to grow the partnerships we have in this sector on the back of recent investment.

"Our service levels, quality and turn-round times have reached new heights on the back of investment in improved processes and systems and we’re looking forward to opening up these benefits to more customers.

"The appointment of Stephen Blevins (pictured) as our new sales manager and the experience he brings through many years spent working with precision engineers and manufacturers in the surface treatment industry will be invaluable.”

Surface Technology has four sites in the UK, as well as international operations, offering surface treatment services to manufacturers in a wide range of industries, from precision engineering and automotive to power generation, medical equipment and food and drink processing.

The business carries out a wide range of industrial coating processes both on and off-site; it prides itself on its application engineering expertise and its ability to build on more than 40 years’ experience to solve customers’ surface-finishing problems.
