Germany-based Innogy (
iam.innogy.com) has taken the reigns of the 860MW Triton Knoll wind farm (off the Lincolnshire coast) after acquiring partner Statkraft’s 50% stake in the project for an undisclosed sum.
Innogy said it will now progress the project to a final investment decision due for mid-2018.
Hans Bünting, Innogy’s chief operations officer, said the company will “review all options” on the project’s future ownership structure “to maximise value for our company and our shareholders”.
The wind farm has a Contract for Difference from the UK Government and should be operational in 2021, with 90 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines.
