Visitors to XYZ Machine Tools’ Blackburn showroom clearance event last month were quick off the mark, with nine machines sold in the first two hours of the one-day event (www.xyzmachinetools.com).

Orders continued to materialise throughout the remainder of the day, and by the time the doors finally closed on the event, a total of 21 machines had been snapped up by customers.

Martin Burton, the company’s UK sales manager, said: “As we regularly replace our demonstration machines in our showrooms across the country, there are some great savings to be had for those early-bird customers.

"It was encouraging that the enthusiasm continued after the showroom machines had been sold, with orders being placed for new machines with a total sales value of almost £1 million in a single day.”

The ex-demo machines will be shipped directly to customers from the Blackburn showroom, with the new machines coming from the extensive stock of machines held at XYZ’s factory in Devon.

Typically, there are over 350 machines available for delivery, once they have been through the company’s rigorous 168hr ‘continuous test run’ procedures, including ball-bar testing.
