Birmingham-based Fracino, which makes coffee machines, has celebrated its showroom expansion with an official launch by Mayor Andrew Street.
The 2,500ft
2 extension gives the family-owned business a new showroom and a training centre for distributors’ service engineers.
The Mayor toured the 45,000ft
2 factory, which now has a third production line and produces thousands of machines each year for customers in over 70 countries.
Mr Street said: “The expansion is the latest chapter in the powerful success story of Fracino, which has achieved well-deserved recognition as a global brand. The company is a champion of British manufacturing and a local employer committed to training and developing its workforce.”
Established in 1963, the business is home to three generations of the Maxwell family.
Founder Frank, who started making coffee machines in his garden shed, is the chairman; his son Adrian is the managing director; and his daughter Rebecca is the service support manager.
Recently named Business of the Year in the Birmingham Awards, Fracino is the UK’s only manufacturer of cappuccino and espresso machines.
