Alstom (
www.alstom.com) is to supply three more Coradia Nordic trains to Sweden’s Östgötatrafiken transport authority, complementing the current fleet of 15.
The new trains, which will be built in Alstom’s facility in Salzgitter (Germany) and delivered in spring 2019, consist of four carriages, are 74m long and can accommodate up to 510 passengers. They have a maximum speed of 160kph and are more than 97% recyclable.
Alstom is currently delivering 30 trains to the Skånetrafiken transport authority, and these new units for Östgötatrafiken will be an add-on to that production schedule.
Since 2002, 280 regional Coradia EMU single-deck trains have been sold in the Nordic region.
In total, more than 3,000 regional trains have been sold in Europe, and they are currently running in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
