Australian wave-energy developer Bombora Wave Power has officially opened its new European headquarters at Pembroke Dock — and announced a multi-million-dollar investment from global energy and environment company Enzen to support the development of its mWave device.
Bombora plans to ramp up its recruitment and supply-chain activities over the coming weeks, as the new facility becomes fully operational.
CEO Sam Leighton said: “We are excited to base our European manufacturing operations in Wales, which has various schemes and financial incentives as well as excellent planned testing facilities, making it an ideal location to develop our mWave technology commercially (

"Our parent company and board remain in Australia, where we have an extensive network of development partners still integrally involved in developing our device.”
The company is planning to design, fabricate and test the first 1.5MW mWave prototype during the next two and a half years; it is in discussions with Marine Energy Wales and the Milford Haven Port Authority to secure both construction and test sites.
