Linecross Composites expandsCannock-based Linecross Composites, which supplies thermo-formed and polyurethane components to clients in the automotive, leisure and speciality industries, has invested in a £1.7 million expansion programme to meet rising demand for its products.

This could lead to the creation of a number of new jobs and a move into new markets.

The business was formed in 2012, when parent company Linecross Ltd bought a competitor — BI Composites — out of administration.

Since then, it has seen a programme of phased investment to support growth, including the purchase of new plant and equipment, plus a re-organisation to provide additional capacity and operational efficiencies (www.linecross.co.uk).

Its latest purchases are two new injection moulding machines that will enable it to mould large automotive-interior parts.

The ancillary equipment includes a new crane for tool movements, robotic handling systems to remove moulded parts from the machines, and an ultrasonic welding robot to support assembly operations.

Be seen in all the right places!
