New £2 million factory opened in CarrickfergusLeading test equipment manufacturer Yelo (www.yelo.co.uk) has officially opened a new 25,000ft2 facility in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

The company designs and manufactures automated equipment to test and measure the performance of lasers, radar systems and electronic products; its customers include high-end manufacturing and software development companies such as Cisco and Schneider Electric.

It purchased the 3.5-acre site from Invest NI and constructed its purpose-built facility in less than two years.

Speaking at the official opening, managing director Richard Furey said: “We were keen to design a working environment that reflected the ethos of the company, and this custom-built facility is a significant achievement in the history of the business. Our new site offers the amenities we need to continue to grow in our target markets.

"We want to continue to increase our market share by developing new and complementary products. The new facility will enable us to accommodate the additional staff and production levels needed to deliver this vision.”
