Allesley-based Marchant Cain (
www.marchantcain.com), which designs and manufactures parts for some of the world’s leading car manufacturers, is set to create 34 jobs in response to strong demand for its products, taking its workforce from 16 to 50 over the next four years.
It is investing £200,000 in new machinery and staff after receiving £40,000 support from the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Business Support Programme.
Marchant Cain specialises in mechatronic systems— such as the items within a vehicle’s door that lower and raise the window, and devices to redirect the airflow around the car to boost its aerodynamic performance and fuel efficiency.
The company designed and made an underbody actuator for the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Tom Meredith, who joined the company as a business administration apprentice and is now finance director, said: “We have a growth plan that would see us 50-strong in 2021.
"Of course, we are competing with other automotive manufacturers and suppliers in the region for great people, but we believe we offer a really exciting career, where no two projects are the same.
"The Chamber have been excellent in the support they have given us, and the grant will help us to execute our growth plans.”
