Rutland-based Linecross Group (
www.linecross.co.uk) — one of the region’s leading manufacturers of vacuum-formed thermoplastic, polyurethane and injection-moulded components — has invested £3.1 million in new plant and equipment.
The company, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, is currently developing a number of new products for several global brands.
It has bought three of the latest vacuum forming machines, one of which will be dedicated to twin sheet forming. Meanwhile, a water-jet trimming centre has been relocated from its Cannock site to form part of a manufacturing cell for a new automotive programme.
Linecross provides a full design and manufacturing service — from initial design to ‘just in time’ supply direct to the production line — for clients in the automotive, leisure and speciality industries.
As the business has expanded, so has its reputation for technical innovation.
As a result, it can count many household names among its customers — from luxury-car makers Bentley and Aston Martin to JCB, the London Taxi Co and caravan manufacturers Swift Group and Coachman.
Group chairman David Austin said: “Linecross has been at the forefront of advances in the industry for 50 years and has established long-term partnerships with many iconic British manufacturers.
“The latest investment in infrastructure and technology demonstrates our commitment to remaining at the forefront of new plastic and composite materials and technology.”
