The Tamworth-based work-holding specialist Leader Chuck Systems Ltd recently announced a new partnership with Turin-based Rotomors — a manufacturer of tailor-made work-holding and component manipulation equipment.

This allows Leader to exclusively offer Rotomors bespoke solutions to manufacturing and precision engineering companies in the UK and Ireland.

Rotomors was established in Turin in 1966, specialising in the design and manufacture of special self-centring chucks for lathes used in the automotive industry.

Today, the company designs and manufactures work-holding systems, automatic pallet-changing systems for vertical lathes and machining centres, and die-change shuttles for presses. It currently has about 65 employees.

Leader Chuck’s managing director, Mark Jones, says: “Each project is developed according to the specific requirements of the individual customer; and because the equipment is specially designed, it extends the range offered by Leader Chuck with pneumatic and hydraulically operated systems.

"Chucks start at 200mm in diameter and go all the way up to 7,000mm, with many different styles to clamp just about any shape — plus variable clamping forces for thin-walled components.” (www.leaderchuck.com)
