Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) (
www.itc-ltd.co.uk) extended its manufacturing facility by over 50% in 2016.
Since then, the Tamworth-based cutting-tool manufacturer has invested well over £1 million in ‘state of the art’ manufacturing equipment to extend its product ranges while enhancing its manufacturing capacity, productivity and quality.
The investments include two Rollomatic grinding centres, a centralised Vomat micro filtration coolant system, a Haimer balancing machine and an Action Super Abrasives (ASA) wheel-dressing machine.
The new equipment was delivered in September and has been fully operational since October.
The Rollomatic machines include a new ShapeSmart NP5 blanking machine, which is ITC’s third Rollomatic precision cylindrical grinding machine; designed for preparing tool blanks, it has an integrated three-axis robot loader for the automated blanking of rotary-tool shanks from 0.025 to 25mm in diameter.
Alongside the NP5 is a GrindSmart Nano 6, the UK’s first installation of this six-axis grinding centre for the production of micro-tools in the diameter range 0.03-2.0mm.
ITC’s managing director, Peter Graves, said: “With the additional manufacturing footprint, we have the space not only to install further production machines but also to invest in technology that will augment our on-going commitment to customer services and product quality. We will continue ordering high-tech machine tools through this year.”
