SKF (
www.skf.com) has signed a multi-year framework agreement to supply Arcelor Mittal — a leading integrated steel and mining company — with bearings, bearing units, seals and remanufacturing services in 14 countries in Europe and Northern Africa.
It will also provide total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) savings studies.
Erik Nelander, SKF’s president (industrial sales) for the EMEA region, said: “Through a long-term process of documenting and validating the savings generated by our products, we have been able to illustrate the value of working with SKF.
“Our application engineering knowledge and local presence — both directly and through our authorised distributors — position us well to continue to support Arcelor Mittal in improving the performance of their operations.”
The framework agreement covers the sale, maintenance and replacement of standard bearings and units, roll-neck bearings and seals.
SKF will also be able to recommend — and carry out — the remanufacturing of bearings, reducing costs and supporting Arcelor Mittal’s ambitions to reduce its carbon footprint and develop a ‘circular economy’ that keeps resources in use for as long as possible.
