Huddersfield-based Reliance Precision (www.reliance.co.uk), which specialises in precision instrumentation for customers in a diverse range of global markets, has invested in ‘state of the art’ measuring technology to strengthen the capabilities of its metrology department.

Having used a Zeiss Prismo Navigator system for the past five years, it has purchased a Zeiss Prismo Ultra system, which achieves an additional level of precision through more-accurate scales, an improved air bearing system and
active air damping, which negates vibrations.

Operating in tightly controlled environmental conditions in the metrology department, the new system is ideal for development projects where more-complex elements must be precisely measured and recorded.
