Concept Metal invests in second fibre laserManchester-based Concept Metal Products Ltd, a sheet metal fabrication specialist, has invested in a second Kimla fibre laser system to enhance its capacity and production capabilities.

The company installed a 10m x 2m Kimla Powercut 4kW fibre laser in early 2017, and it was so impressed by the speed and precision of that machine, plus the resulting cost savings, that it decided to add a Powercut LF2040 6kW machine — through UK agent Wetherby-based MBA Engineering (www.mba-eng.co.uk).

Kimla machines have a small footprint and can cut to an accuracy of 0.03mm. They are said to be up to 50% faster than some competitor models.

Concept Metal Products’ general manager, Dean Barnard, said: “We were amazed by the efficiency and precision of our original Kimla system, while the cost savings were far more significant than we anticipated, so the obvious choice for us was to install a second system.”

Bradley McBain, managing director of MBA Engineering, said: “We pride ourselves on delivering cost-effective metal fabrication solutions.

Kimla is one of the most innovative laser system manufacturers out there, combining ‘state of the art’ technology with out-standing customer service — an ethos that we echo.”
