Blue Sky Industries relocates to DerbyCalifornia-based Blue Sky Industries — a distributor of fasteners and related hardware to the aerospace industry — is relocating its UK base from Cannock to a 12,000ft2 premises in Derby.

The company, which currently employs 10 people in Cannock, says the move will enable it to expand its workforce to 25 over the next two years. It will be looking to create jobs in sales, inspection and the warehouse (www.blueskyindustries.com).

General manager Jonathan Morgan said: “We are expanding in line with growth in the aerospace industry — particularly Airbus — and we were keen to find new premises that would give us the long-term capacity to grow our workforce and operations.

“Derby is at the heart of the UK aerospace industry, with unrivalled transport links. Relocating there this spring will be an exciting milestone for both Blue Sky Industries and our UK supply chain.”

The company has been established for 26 years in the USA and set up in the UK five years ago, with an initial focus on the Aberdeen offshore oil and gas helicopter fleet.

More recently, it has developed a strong relationship with Airbus and its major sub-contractors.
