Dungannon-based BlueMAC Manufacturing, which specialises in recycling systems, material recovery facilities and bespoke machinery, has secured an order from Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Waste Management Agency in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Alastair Hamilton, Invest Northern Ireland’s chief executive, said: “This deal will see BlueMAC’s range of separators and conveyors shipped to UAE in an initial contract valued at £1.3 million.

“It follows a visit by RAK’s buyers to BlueMAC’s facilities in Dungannon during an Invest NI ‘inward buyer visit’ last year.”

Chris Brooke, BlueMAC sales engineer (www.bluemacmanufacturing.com), said: “We are delighted to secure this contract from the UAE — our first in this market — and Invest NI’s support has been invaluable.

"During the inward buyer visit, we were able to show our ‘state of the art’ recycling facility to RAK and meet key contacts in the company, which allowed us to begin a very worthwhile relationship that has led to securing this business.

"We are very much looking forward to continuing to develop relationships in the Middle East, which will be vital to our future exporting success in this market.”
