Gloucester-based Phase 3 CNC (
www.phase3cnc.co.uk) will showcase the recently introduced Piranha-Clamp range of centring vices (Hall 18 Stand 106).
Manufactured in Switzerland, these vices feature a specially hardened and coated twin-cylindrical jaw-guiding system for highly repeatable accuracy and clamping power.
Material loss and billet size are kept to a minimum by using 3mm serrated clamping jaws, which — due to the clamping forces offered by the vices — means that no pre-clamping of the component is necessary.
Phase 3 CNC says that tests have shown a significant reduction in billet vibration during heavy machining.
Additionally, the patented quick-change system enables fast change-overs with the wide variety of Piranha-Clamp jaws available.
Open construction allows for easy chip evacuation, while the low overall height ensures that the working envelope of the machine tool is maximised.
Phase 3 CNC says that optimum results are achieved with the use of the Piranha-Clamp zero-point clamping system, which gives a repeatable accuracy of 0.01mm.
Piranha-Clamp vices are available in sizes of 170 x 90mm or 300 x 120mm; both can be specified with either fixed or quick-change jaw options.
