Leamington Spa-based Mills CNC Ltd (
www.millscnc.co.uk) is set to showcase 16 Doosan lathes and machining centres, an automation solution and machine-monitoring technology (Hall 18 Stand 520).
In total, eight lathes will be on display. These will include the new 10in-chuck Puma 2600SY Mk II (sub-spindle, Y axis), the recently launched 12in-chuck Puma GT 3100LM equipped with driven-tool capability, and the latest addition to Doosan’s vertical turning lathe range — the Puma V8300M with driven tools and automatic tool changer.
All three models are available with a choice of the latest Fanuc or Siemens controls, and they will be under power at the show, performing a range of machining demonstrations.
For manufacturers seeking larger turning solutions, Mills will be showing a Puma 4100LMB and a Puma 700LM; while for small-parts production two Lynx lathes — 2100B and 220LYSC (a long-bed lathe with Y axis, sub-spindle and C axis) — are being exhibited.
Eight Doosan machining centres will be on display: two five-axis machines (including the DVF 5000 that was launched at EMO 2017); a large-capacity NHP4000 horizontal machining centre with a 60-tool magazine; a VC 3600 twin-table vertical machining centre; and four of Mills’ vertical machining centres from the DNM series (these include a DNM 4000, which is making its UK debut at the exhibition).
One of the DNM machines — a DNM 5700 — will be shown with a Robojob automated workpiece load/unload system from Hydrafeed.
Predator machine-monitoring software and factory-floor control technologies will be also be demonstrated on Mills’ stand, to which a number of the Doosan machines will be networked.
As well as being able to view status (in real time) and access the ‘performance metrics’ of Doosan machines installed with Predator Software, visitors can also visit the adjacent CNC Training Academy stand (Hall 18 Stand 622), where more information on Predator software, training and support will be available.
