Burnley-based Veka Group, a manufacturer of extruded PVC-U products, has announced plans to invest £5 million in its Burnley facility (www.vekauk.com).

Managing director Dave Jones said: “We’re in the process of acquiring a building adjacent to our Veka headquarters that will allow the current 380,000ft² site to expand by 40,000ft² and enable us to increase our lamination capacity by 50%.

“As well as the new building, we are investing in a flexible lamination line that will allow us to offer the most efficient service on small runs, plus quirkier colour choices.

The department will also see the addition of another standard lamination line, a new colour-changing head and a heat tunnel, alongside all its existing high-spec foiling equipment.”

Improvements will also be made to the specialist maintenance and tooling department.
