Big Kaiser has launched Torque Fit, a tightening fixture for collet chucks that features an integrated torque indicator.
It is available in the UK via Tamworth-based Industrial Tooling Corporation Ltd (
www.itc-ltd.co.uk).
The aim of the new system is to aid precision machining by notifying the user — via an audible buzzer — of a correctly set torque value. Torque Fit was developed to replace the need for multiple torque wrenches; it comes with adapters for all common machine-tool interfaces, including HSK, SK and BT.
For convenience, the torque values of all Big Kaiser collet chucks available from ITC are pre-set, but users can set the torque to any value from 4 to 80Nm.
The minimum read value is 0.01Nm at less than 10Nm, and 0.1 Nm at 10Nm or more. Torque Fit also includes an error LED to indicate over-tightening.
