Midway Manufacturing has relocated its sub-contract electronics business and created three new jobs after receiving £60,000 from Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Grants for Growth, enabling it to move from a base in Sandbach to a much larger factory in Longton.
The money contributed towards the purchase of the property and its refurbishment, while the move increased the company’s floor space from 2,500 to 6,318ft
2.
Managing director Phil Harper said: “The new premises have allowed Midway to create a segregated workshop for ‘dirty’ work, including drilling and cutting (

“This will be deemed a positive move by our customers, who all operate in the clean environment of the scientific-instrumentation sector.
“The number of work-benches has increased from 12 to 20-plus, and we now have a dedicated area for testing and new-product development.”
