Tewkesbury-based cutting-tool manufacturer Quickgrind (
www.quickgrind.com) has opened a new technical centre and training facility to demonstrate its commitment to UK customers and to increase its market presence in the UK.
The centre has a seminar theatre two meeting rooms and a training room that can accommodate over 30 people, and the company has appointed a number of technical partners, including Romi Machine Tools, Open Mind Technologies, CG Tech and QuickVend.
The new facility has workstations for programming CAM strategies and tool-paths, and a ROMI D1000 vertical machining centre has been installed to carry out customer trials and demonstrations.
This machine has a 10,000rev/min BT40 spindle driven by a 22.4kW motor, a Fanuc CNC system and a 1,220 x 560mm table that can accommodate loads up to 1,000kg.
Quickgrind is located just two minutes away from both the M5 and M50 motorways. Customers of both Quickgrind and its technical partners can put their cumulative expertise to the test with live demonstrations.
Visitors can also take a guided tour of the cutting-tool production facility, and they can see the latest technologies on display.
