Coventry-based Fanuc UK Ltd (
www.fanuc.eu) has launched its first range of SCARA robots for picking and packing, assembly, and material-handling applications.
The SR-3iA is easy to install, due to its compact and integrated design.
Moreover, several mounting options are available, including wall and ‘base down’ systems.
This robot has a maximum payload of 3kg, with horizontal and vertical reaches of 400 and 200mm respectively.
A larger version, the SR-6iA, can be supplied for heavier handling requirements. The range is particularly suitable for production lines handling consumer electronics, automotive components, plastics, appliances and medical devices.
Featured as standard on the robot is Fanuc’s new R-30iB Compact Plus controller, which is designed to helps operators program simple commands easily and intuitively — without external assistance.
For added functionality, operators can also choose from a range of Fanuc software packages.
These include: iRProgrammer, a Web-based user interface that can be operated via a tablet or PC; iRPickTool, a visual tracking technology that allows robots to identify, pick and place items from a moving conveyor; and field bus connectivity, which allows operators to connect the SCARA robot to other Fanuc machines on the factory floor.
