Metrologic Group (
www.metrologic.fr) and Creaform (
www.creaform3d.com) have entered into a partnership that will see the latter integrate Metrologic software with its new CUBE-R 3-D automated dimensional-inspection solution.
This laser scanning solution features Metrologic’s 3-D measurement programming and inspection software packages, Silma X4 i-Robot and Metrolog X4 i-Robot, to combine the efficiency and reliability of robotisation in an automated industrial measuring cell.
The CUBE-R is an off-the-shelf, fully integrated and automated 3-D inspection solution designed for manufacturing companies requiring automated quality control on the shopfloor.
It provides a flexible plug-and-play alternative to co-ordinate measuring machines and other robot-mounted structured-light 3-D scanners.
The companies say that integrating Metrologic’s Silma X4 i-Robot and Metrolog X4 i-Robot with CUBE-R delivers a number of benefits.
For example, the software calculates the most efficient positioning of the sensor and the best collision-free trajectories for the robot.
The same software manages the optical 3-D measurements, simultaneously provides advanced analysis of the results (even when computing huge point clouds), and “edits personalised easy-to-understand reports”.
