North Tyneside-based Northern Engineering Solutions Ltd (NESL) (www.northernengineering.co.uk) celebrated its 10th anniversary last month.

The company, which specialises in process pipework, specialist and stainless steel welding, mechanical services, clean-room construction and modification, drilling-rig construction, consultancy services and project management, has worked on more than 500 projects in 10 countries world-wide.

Its founders and directors — Mark Hodges and Mark Davey — have a combined experience of more than 70 years in engineering and process pipework.

They met in 1996 while working at the Siemens semiconductor plant in North Tyneside.

Mr Hodges said: “We are extremely proud of what our team has delivered for our clients over the past 10 years. During this time, our customer base has expanded, and we have been able to grow our service offerings dramatically.”

NESL is now looking to the future and is making plans for its continued growth.

Mr Davey said: “Three members of the current team started as apprentices, and we recruited four new apprentices in the autumn of 2017, in partnership with Advanced Industrial Solutions.

“We strongly believe in the value of ‘homegrown’ talent and the benefits that it brings to the business.”
