Velocity Composites wins Boeing 737 Max dealBurnley-based Velocity Composites (www.velocity-composites.com) , a leading supplier of advanced composite material kits, has secured a £3 million contract to supply composite material kits for the Boeing 737 Max programme.

These will be produced at the company’s Fareham site in Hampshire — starting immediately — and will be used by Velocity’s customer during wing construction for the Boeing 737 Max.

The deal runs to the end of 2021; it includes an agreement to provide complex vacuum bags.

CEO Jon Bridges said: “This latest signing of a long-term agreement with one of our existing customers is a significant step for Velocity and — importantly — our first contracted Boeing platform. It continues the trading momentum that the company has experienced in the year so far.

“We are confident that the added value Velocity brings through lowering waste and cost in the aerospace industry will lead to the continued growth of Velocity’s role in the aerospace manufacturing supply chain.”
