Cardiff-based fabricator Dudley’s Aluminium (
www.dudleys.uk.com) has invested more than £200,000 on a new storage and offtake facility, as well as a second Combilift multi-directional fork-lift, to ensure smooth and efficient
operations at its manufacturing facility and storage unit.
The recent expansion means that its storage capacity has doubled, while it has also freed up space in the main factory, increasing its dedicated fabrication space by 50%.
The investment in the new facility follows a period of growth for the company, which has won a number of high-profile contracts over the last 12 months, ranging from the redevelopment of Central Square Cardiff to work on new facilities for a number of universities (including Cardiff, Swansea, Bath and Cambridge).
Managing director Colin Shorney said: “The last 12 months have been a strong period for Dudley’s Aluminium in terms
of contract wins; with the new facility, we can ensure the smooth flow of materials on a project-to-project basis.”
Assistant production manager Geraint Bowden said: “With the uptake in new projects for Dudley’s, we realised that we needed to streamline our operations. The new facility enables us to store project-specific materials more efficiently and to track projects through the production process in a more controlled manner.”
Dudley’s reputation for quality has been recognised with several industry-related accreditations. Established in 1993, it offers clients full in-house design and production facilities, and it has completed many successful education, health, commercial, retail and defence-sector projects throughout the UK and Channel Islands.
