Ceratizit Group highlights sector specialisms Ceratizit Group (with 9,000 employees working in 34 manufacturing plants and 70 sales offices) exhibited at the recent Farnborough International Airshow, where it showed selections of its hard material products that are used in cutting-tool and wear-protection applications.

The Ceratizit Group encompasses four cutting-tool brands — Ceratizit, Klenk, Komet and WNT — and has a strong industry-sector focus, including aerospace.

The spotlight at Farnborough was on the latest cutting-tool developments for the aerospace sector; these include cutters such as the MaxiMill HFC-TUR milling system, which allows high levels of productivity to be achieved when machining turbine blades.

Similarly, the new 3-D finish solid-carbide end mills — used in conjunction with Open Mind’s HyperMill MAXX Machining CAD/CAM software— are delivering significant cycle time savings (up to 90%) on airframe components.

Tony Pennington, managing director of Ceratizit UK & Ireland Ltd (www.ceratizit.com), said: “Farnborough International Airshow was the perfect opportunity for the Group to highlight the depth of knowledge it has in the aerospace sector, where we can work together with customers to ensure higher productivity and reduced manufacturing costs.”
