Having an accreditation assessment is a stressful time for any business, but Keighley Laboratories Ltd (www.keighleylabs.co.uk) has successfully passed two audits — just two weeks apart.

Firstly, the heat treatment division underwent an intensive week-long assessment from BSI, before ‘transitioning’ to AS9100 Rev D/ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.

Managing director Debbie Mellor said: “The assessment results from BSI provide reassurance that the company is robust and focused on continual improvement. They demonstrate to our customers that we are committed to best practice and delivering value.”

Just days after the successful completion of the BSI audit, the assessors from Nadcap’s Performance Review Institute arrived to conduct a four-day assessment on the company’s heat treatment nitriding process.

Joe Pinto of Nadcap said: “Congratulations to Keighley Laboratories on successfully passing what may be the aerospace industry’s most stringent process capability assessment.

Nadcap audit criteria are widely acknowledged to be hard to meet, and companies that succeed in doing so rightfully deserve recognition.”

Mrs Mellor added: “It was challenging, moving from BSI transition to the Nadcap audit in such a short time-scale. The quality and production teams showed great dedication, commitment and perseverance to bring about successful outcomes for both assessments.”
