Selby-based Constant Power Solutions (CPS), a designer and manufacturer of generators, is set for rapid expansion with the support of a seven-figure funding package provided by HSBC UK (
www.cps-generators.com).
The company is continuing to grow by scaling up its production with the purchase of a new 7,954ft
2 manufacturing facility.
Following this investment, it expects to boost its production capability by 300% to meet increasing demand from customers in the UK and overseas.
CPS currently exports 60% of its UK-made machines — mainly to emerging economies in the Middle East and Africa — and it plans to develop and launch a new gas-powered generator in the next 12 months.
It is set to double its turnover and create up to four new jobs in the same time-frame, and it has worked with Selby College to create an apprenticeship programme.
CPS director Victor Wu said: “We’ve come a long way since we started out, and this new facility is key to the next phase in our growth strategy.
“With HSBC UK’s financial backing and international reach, we now have the capacity and flexibility to grow our portfolio of customers — both in the UK and globally.”
Established in 2013 as a hobby (in a garden shed), CPS quickly developed, as it received enquiries from potential customers.
The business has now grown to supply power solutions (from 5kVA to 220kVA) for numerous uses, including homes, data centres, business systems, agriculture, mobile components, and many other applications.
