Leicester-based Taylor Hobson (
www.taylor-hobson.com), an ultra-precision technology company that supplies equipment and instruments for form and surface metrology applications, has added the Surtronic S-100 series of roughness testers to its range, building on the capabilities of its Surtronic 25.
Designed for shopfloor, industrial and inspection-room applications, the S-100 series is suitable for all surface finish measurement requirements and for a wide range of industries, including precision bearings, automotive and aerospace engineering.
It comes with USB connectivity for charging, USB stick storage for printing, a stylus lift function, and anti-slip V-feet to accommodate measurements on flat or curved surfaces.
The S-100 is robustly built, with impact-resistant rubberised mouldings, and 2,000 measurements can be made on a single charge.
Taylor Hobson, which provides full certification for instruments in its purpose-built UKAS-accredited clean-room facility, offers the S-series portable roughness testers in two variants: the S-116 is the standard offering, while the S-128 offers extended measurement range and analysis capability.
